"Cami de Ronda" means "patrol path", long time used by the authorities to watch the coast and by fishermen to
have access to harbours and coves.
This section of the Costa Brava is part of the long distance GR 92 snaking for almost 400 km along the Catalan coast.
The itineraries offer a wonderful succession of colourful landscapes: jagged capes and high cliffs, pine and holm oak forests, rare vestiges of Antiquity, rocky coves and unspoilt beaches, a great variety of Mediterranean flora, lovely fishing villages.
You stay in a different village every evening and enjoy
the local cuisine of fresh sea products.
Leaving its charming harbour,
you walk along the shady GR 92. Unexpected detours enliven the first part of the day. On the way back, the path meanders at sea level along secluded beaches and wild coves. Swimming is a very tempting choice!
The seaside village is popular for its artistic atmosphere. Next to
Cap de Sant Sebastià's lighthouse, you will discover the remains of an ancient Iberian village (6th century BC). “Tapas” lunch on the seafront of
Tamariu
before a detour inland to the village of Begur.
3. BEGUR, climax of the tour
Ideal walk along the idyllic coves of
Sa Tuna
and
Aiguafreda. A stroll in the little town of
Begur offers a display of beautiful colonial style mansions built by Catalans who made their fortune in Cuba. The belvedere of the old castle offers sweeping views over the coastline.
4. PALS, an architectural gem
A peaceful easy walk among sandy dunes and pine forests to reach the classified historic village of Pals built on a promontory overlooking the countryside and... its rice fields. Commented visit of the village.

a nature reserve for birds.
