Our tour follows the Catalan section of the long distance trail GR 11 running from the Atlantic coast (Basque country)

to the Mediterranean (Costa Brava). The itinerary offers a great diversity in landscapes beginning with magnificent high mountain sequences through Andorra and Cerdanya. The remarkable rugged region of Alta Garrotxa, halfway through, is the perfect transition to moderate hills and countryside. The last section of the trail crosses the surrealistic scenery of Cap de Creus natural park.

To better enjoy this trip across the Catalan Pyrenees, you can divide it into 2 distinct stays: Spring and Autumn.

Part 1: Andorra to Camprodon

You start by crossing the wonderful Valley of Madriu, classified UNESCO World Heritage. The trail leads to the high passes of Cerdanya and down to the meadows surrounding Puigcerdà,

a convenient place for an optional break.

Next is one of the highlights of the tour: the massif of Puigmal, the welcoming valley of Núria and the rocky crests marking the border with France.

At the foot of mount Costabona, the itinerary follows the river Ter from its source to the picturesque town of Camprodon.

Part 2: Camprodon to Cadaques

The next section runs from Molló to Beget, an absolute gem

of  a village. During 3 unforgettable days you will be thrilled

by fantastic landscapes in the wilderness of Alta Garrotxa!

The route meanders down to the moderate reliefs of Salines

and Albera across cork oak forests and vineyards.

The Pyrenees then tumble into Costa Brava, finally crossing

the inspiring scenery of the Natural Park of Cap de Creus. Cadaques is waiting for you with a well-earned dish of "tapas" and a refreshing glass of sparkling "cava"!
